Winchester Old Town Mall

A historic district with some buildings dating over 250, the challenges was to secure the pedestrian shopping and entertainment district from errant vehicles while working around existing underground utilities close to the surface, preserving the historic look and feel of the area and allowing access to emergency vehicles. Two Matador sliding bollard systems consisting of two fixed bollards and two central sliding bollards, operated hydraulically, were chosen. This product is ideal for the application because it required a shallow foundation depth, provided remote control operation for emergency access and was customizable to the surroundings.
